We all want to make the world and this country a better place but not all of us are able to donate. That’s okay because we don’t need to any money to make a change in this country / world. Here’s how you can help.
CONTACT YOUR REPRESENTATIVE
https://www.house.gov/representatives/find-your-representative
(202) 224-3121
https://www.senate.gov/senators/How_to_correspond_senators.htm
Representatives are here to represent us. They cant do that unless they know what we want. Find your local representatives and tell them what you want changed or improved like mandatory police body cams, more funding for schools, and/or better healthcare.
GET INVOLVED LOCALLY ( NEIGHBORHOOD COUNCIL )
https://empowerla.org/councils/
Ive talked about neighborhood councils before. I don’t know if their only in LA but if they are if you live in LA you should know about them. Neighborhood councils get around 40 thousand dollars every year to help us and each other. We can use that money to buy supplies for our poorly funded schools or to pay people to help clean the streets. We can do lot with that money and more if neighborhood councils put money together we can make a big difference.
If 3 councils worked together that’s $120k+ we get every year to make our community better. Right now people don’t know much about them and so the board usually decides where the money is going towards. Sometimes is spent on retreats for the board sometimes it goes to charity.
This is your money and you can help decide where its going or have someone decide for you.
