DON’T JUST TALK ABOUT IT. BE ABOUT IT.
While not all of us are able to be president, we all could still get involved in our local community, government, and finances with the help of your local neighborhood council. (if you don’t live in LA you can look up “(your city) neighborhood council” online to help you get started in improving your community.) I will be using my city and local neighborhood council as an example of what is possible and to share my experience.
There are around 15 neighborhood council districts in Los Angeles each with a few Boards. My Board has a budget of $42,000. Assuming each district has only one board and they all have a budget of 40k that is a total budget of $600,000 for Residents of Los Angeles. Its actually probably $1 million or more because my district has at least 2 Boards. This is only one city. And I’m pretty sure this is only for 2019, next year it is another million.
This isn’t The Boards money, it isn’t The President’s money, it’s not the mayor’s money. This is YOUR money and you can help decide where it goes towards instead of doing nothing and letting others decide what to do with your millions. The choice is yours. We can build better roads, build better schools, better hospitals, better jobs, better homes and a better world or let The Board and the politicians go on retreats , spend your millions , and let world burn while they stay in their air conditioned palaces.
That is what is happening right now and why the united states and world is in the state it is in. Not enough people especially young people are involved and taking action. Which is understandable because we aren’t taught this information at school or really anywhere.
I myself just went to my first neighborhood council meeting and it was mostly board members. There were less than five people from the public attending. I hope this changes and more people start showing up and taking action in the community and world.
Knowledge is wealth and action is power.
Here is a couple of neighborhood councils you can get involved in. If you don’t see your area , go to EmpowerLA.org/councils , or comment/contact me and I will try looking for your council so you can get involved with your millions.
